Summer Hours

Happy Summer Everyone!

Just a quick reminder that the summer service hours here at Calvary will begin this Sunday, July 4, Independence Day!

For the months of July and August, our worship schedule will be:

7:30am Holy Eucharist
9:30am Holy Eucharist with music, Children's Church & childcare

During the summer months, the Church Office will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 9am to 1pm.

2010 Annual Parish Picnic

At the Deer Path Park Pavilion

Fellowship, Food and Fun!

There will be an 11:30 am Eucharist followed by Picnic. Hamburgers, Hot dogs and Beverages will be provided. Please sign up to bring a salad, side dish or dessert. $5 Adults, $3 Children, Under 4 Free. Maximum $15 per family.

FEAST OF PENTECOST!

This Sunday is the FEAST OF PENTECOST! Wear something Red or Colorful! The church will be decorated. Balloons for the kids. See you then!

Annual Ascension Day Potluck Dinner and Eucharist

Hope you will be able to join us for Calvary's Annual Ascension Day Potluck
Dinner and Holy Eucharist. It is this Thursday, May 13 at 6:30pm. Our
second graders will rehearse at 7pm for Communion Celebration Sunday and the
service will begin at 7:30pm. Bring an appetizer, entree or dessert. (If
you are able, please come a little early to help with set up!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What exactly is being done?
A: The altar is being moved to the opposite side of the church and will be placed below the Rose Window. The pews will be turned around to face the Rose Window. The organ, choir and musicians will remain in their current location.

Q: How will this affect our worship?
A: It is anticipated that there will be a greater sense of reverence as people focus on the altar and the beautiful stained glass windows behind it, with far fewer distractions.

Holy Week Preparations

  • Palm cross preparation, Saturday, March 27th at 9:30 AM. Adult parishioners including our 7th/8th grade class and our confirmation prep class are invited to help fold palms in the Parish Hall
  • If you are willing to serve the Lord by being a Service Assistant during Holy Week - Please add your name to the schedule in the Parish Hall. Assignments will be finalized this week. Thanks.
  • Sign up to watch one hour with the Lord at church or at home. Night Watch Maundy Thursday – Good Friday morning. Sign-up sheet is in the Parish Hall. Come walk the Labyrinth!

Lenten Quiet Day: Praying our Prayerbook

Join Mother Ann in exploring the familiar and not-so-familiar portions of the Book of Common Prayer, with attention to themes that lead to extended prayer and meditation. Spend some quiet time in the Church and discover new resources in the book that form our worship. The time together begins with Morning Prayer and ends with a simple soup lunch. Ash Wednesday Events and Schedule

This Sunday, February 14 we will be preparing for Ash Wednesday, February 17:

  • At 10 a.m, our first graders will be burning our old palms and crushing them into ashes. Please bring in your old palms to place in the basket in the Parish Hall.
  • The Shrove Pancake Supper is this Tuesday, February 16 from 6:00 to 7:30p.m....a Calvary favorite! Sign up in the Parish Hall.
