Episcopal Church
What is the Episcopal Church?
We embrace both Catholic and Protestant expressions of faith. The Episcopal Church in the United States belongs to a worldwide Christian body of about 70 million members. Historically our roots lie in the Church of England, also known as the Anglican Church.
By the way, "Episcopal" comes from a Greek word meaning "bishop" or "overseer". Our bishop in Trenton has spiritual oversight of our 165 churches in central and southern New Jersey.
